ignition interlock device (iid)

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a breathalyzer for vehicles that requires the driver to blow into a mouthpiece in order to operate the vehicle. As a result of a criminal conviction or as a condition of pre-trial relase a defendant may be ordered to get an IID installed on their vehicle.
