When alcohol and/or drugs are suspected as a factor in a case, courts routinely order criminal defendants to get an alcohol/drug evaluation.

These evaluations are done by state certified treatment agencies and may involve an in-person interview, an alcohol and drug test, an examination of the defendant's criminal and driving history, and a review of the current court case police report. The agency then makes a recommendation for alcohol/drug treatment, if any.

Below are some of the agencies in King County that we have worked with that provide alcohol/drug evaluations and treatment. Please note that this is not a complete list. Also, our office is not associated with any of these agencies. While we have worked with them, we cannot make any representations regarding their work. To that end, please speak with your attorney prior to seeking out an agency to perform any alcohol/drug evaluation. He or she may have additional advice, and may also have additional recommendations as to a preferred agencies for your evaluation.
