How Do I Get My License Back?
If your license is suspended or revoked in Washington State, you may be eligible to get your license back. A Washington driver’s license can be suspended for many reasons but the most common are criminal convictions (e.g. DUI and Reckless Driving) and unpaid fines/tickets. My License is Suspended for a DUI.
If your license is suspended for a DUI your can still drive during the suspension as long as you get a Restricted License through the WA DOL. It is a relatively simple process that involves (1) filling out a restricted driver license application, (2) getting SR-22 insurance, and (3) getting an Ignition Interlock Device (IID) installed on your vehicle. As long as your application is approved you will be able to continue driving as long as any car you drive has a functioning IID.
